Greetings & Welcome to 33-7.

Where does that blog-name come from? The Rules of Golf, of course. Rule 33-7 is short and sweet.

Let's read it, "A penalty of disqualification may in exceptional individual cases be waived, modified or imposed if the Committee considers such action warranted. Any penalty less than disqualification must not be waived or modified. If a Committee considers that a player is guilty of a serious breach of etiquette, it may impose a penalty of disqualification under this Rule."

It's not that this blog is all about disqualification penalties, but Rule 33-7 and the power of the Committee is something to think about the next time you have occasion to throw a fit for missing a putt.

Here is another Decision to think about. Decision 1-4/1. You can read the set up to this decision on your own, but the bottom line is this..."Distractions are a common occurrence which players must accept." This can be the distractions of a passing mower, another player on the course, or a big crowd at a tournament. The decision is telling us to just "live with it", the game of golf is full of distractions.
